Ohio State – The Buckeye’s

The Ohio State Buckeyes has been a product of the Ohio State University’s baseball program which was initiated in 1882. To date, the Ohio State Buckeyes has joined several baseball tournaments and has never failed to represent the Ohio State University. The Ohio State Buckeyes have joined the National Championships, CWS, NCCA Tournament and the Conference Tournament Champions.

The Ohio State Buckeyes has joined several games and tournaments which include the National Championships, CWS, NCCA Tournament and the Conference Tournament Champions. Even though the team has not won any major awards or tournaments, their persistence and diligence are what makes them stand out among all the other collegiate baseball teams.

Although some critics say that the Ohio State Buckeyes does not have what it takes to become a top contender, it has produced some top quality players that have established successful careers in the major league baseball games. Such players include Steve Arlin, and Frank Howard.

Nick Swisher was one of the players that made it to Major league from the Ohio State Buckeyes. He was born on November 25, 1980. He had a great ability to switch while batting and is popularly known for his strong left arm in throwing. His debut appearance was for the Oakland Athletics on September 3, 2004. He has changed two teams since then which included a year at Chicago White Sox and currently for the New York Yankees.

After playing his debut game for the Oakland Athletics on September 3, 2004, he has already changed teams twice. He spent a year with the Chicago White Sox. He is currently playing for the New York Yankees as a first baseman and a right field, and is wearing shirt number 33. People are expecting a lot from Swisher for this season.

Steve Arlin is another player that deserves attention. Arlin was born on September 25, 1945. He has a pitching record of 34-67 and an earned run average of 4.33. His total strike outs amounted to 463.

He started out with the San Diego Padres and played his first game on June 17, 1969. He stayed with the Padres, but decided to move to the Cleveland Indians on his last year in the major league and played his last game on September 14, 1974.

Another remarkable player was Frank Howard, born on August 8, 1936. He made it to the major league baseball scene when he played for the Los Angeles Dodgers on September 10, 1958. He also played for the Washington Senators, Texas Rangers, Detroit Tigers and the Taiheiyo Club Lions. His 15-year career ended on his last game for the Detroit Tigers on September 30, 1973.

Some of the teams included the Washington Senators, Texas Rangers, Detroit Tigers and the Taiheiyo Club Lions. His final game was for the Detroit Tigers however on September 30th, 1973.
