Chicago, Illinois is known to have two separate baseball teams. The one that is the most popular is the Chicago White Sox. The Chicago White Sox was known to become part of the major baseball league as early as 1901. During their time in the game, they have already won two major world series. The first world series was won in 1906 with the second following eleven years later in 1917. Due to the strong players that the Chicago White Sox have been known to create, the fans have given the team a nick name known as the “South Siders”.

The Chicago White Sox has been around for a number of years. As one would expect, the uniform worn by the players has changed quite a lot since the early days. The first uniform for the Chicago White Sox is still quite popular in the current day and age. The team was famously known for the Sox logo that it had in 1912. The letters compromising of the word “Sox” were known to be interconnected in a diagonal fashion. This logo changed in 1942 to a standard English font “Sox”.

The initial team colors for the Chicago White Sox in 1964 was black, which later was changed to navy blue. The away uniform worn by the Chicago White Sox went from gray to pale blue. The colors of the uniform changed once again in 1976 to red and black.

Along with these major color changes to the uniform of the Chicago White Sox another change was made to the way in which the “SOX” logo was written. The new kit has a more modern looking “SOX” which is accompanied by the word Chicago that goes across the top. The Chicago White Sox were known to wear shorts for a temporary period of time after which they switched back to wearing trousers.

The new owners of the Chicago White Sox that took over in 1981 came up with a plan to get the fans themselves to design the team’s uniform. The owners; Jerry Reinsfdorf and Eddie Einhorn felt this was a great way to get the fans involved into the team.

The new design was the word “SOX” written across the front of the jersey in the same font, inside of a large blue stripe trimmed with red. After five years the uniform was changed and replaced with a basic styled uniform which had “White Sox” written on the front.

Due to the high demand of uniforms of the Chicago White Sox, most of the old designs are still currently available on their official website. Seeing as some fans preferred certain uniform designs over the other, it allows many the ability to choose which uniform they would like to buy. The good thing about buying your uniform from their official website is that you are provided with the option of having your name printed on the back of the official White Sox shirt.

The Chicago White Sox uniform is not the only items that are being sold on the official website. Another product that is quite popular amongst the fans which is also available is the teams mascot.
