Broncos Head Full-Gear Towards The 2010 Football Games

September 21st, 2010 · No Comments · Baseball

The 2010 Football season unofficially started for Boise State last August 6 when it opened its Fall Camp for the Broncos. Following the previous three camps, this is the final step in their training for this year’s football tournaments which begin on the 6th of September. The team is now guarding the fifth place in the list of 25 best teams. Their overall total is 1,215 points, just a few hundred marks lower than last season’s over-all best team.

The camp will last for two weeks, until August 21. During that time the camp will be closed to the general public. The secrecy may possibly point to a few surprise moves that the team has in store for this season. At the end of camp, a scrimmage (exhibition game) will be previewed to the public.

In the scrimmage (preview game) the offensive units of the Boise State Broncos will be playing against the defensive units. This necessarily limits the techniques that can be shown in that game and spectators shouldn’t expect to know what surprise moves are planned by the team for the actual tournaments. The game will be held at Bronco stadium at 7:30 in the evening.

There will be free parking and free admission. The event immediately follows the 2010 Optimist Youth Football Jamboree.

The teams first opponent with the Virginia Tech. The match has long been awaited by eager fans on both sides of the fence. It is a fitting start for this year’s seasonal play, spearheading it with gusto and excitement. The game is scheduled at Fed-Ex Field, Landover, M. D. on Monday, September 6, 2010.

Expectations are high and varied. Others are happy if the team lands in top 5 of the rankings again. Others expect to be looking at a national championship award. This is not unlikely if the team’s performance in 2009 is to be the gauge.

At postseason of 2009, the Boise State Broncos had copped the number 4 position. They hit an undefeated mark of 14-0 and at the Tostillos Fiesta Bowl, they won 17-10 over TCU.

Their schedule for this year is as follows.

September 6 they face Virginia Tech at Fed-Ex field. September 18 they tackle Wyoming at Laramie. September 25 they play at home versus Oregon State. October 2 they tackle New Mexico State at Las Cruces. October 9 they battle Toledo, once again, at home. October 16 they are up against San Jose State at San Jose, CA. October 26 they fight it out at home with Louisiana Tech. November 6 they play against Hawaii in another home game November 12 the game is against Idaho in Moscow, Idaho. November 19 they battle Fresno State in another home game. November 26 they face Nevada at Reno. December 4 they play at home against Utah.

This season is definitely one that Boise State Broncos fans won’t be missing. Last season they clambered from position 16 to position 4 in the rankings. If they keep up their play, as they are probably doing, given the secrecy of Fall Camp, who is to say they won’t get to top in the postseason rankings?
