Astanga, or at times typed ashtanga Yoga exercise is in fact taught these days by a man named Sri K. Pattabhi Jois, inside Mysore, India. He has brought astanga yoga exercise to the western world about two-and-a-half decades ago but still teaches right now at 91 years old. Astanga yoga exercise began with the actual rediscovery of the particular ancient manuscript Yoga Korunta.

It details a unique method of Hatha yoga as used and developed by the ancient sage Vamana Rishi. It is considered to be the original asana used designed by Patanjali.

The actual Yoga Korunta emphasizes vinyasa, or breathing-coordinated motion, in which one practices a pose with specific inhalation patterns associated with it. This breathing technique is known as ujayyi pranayama, or the victorious breath, and it is a process which generates intense internal heat and a plentiful perspiration which purifies and detoxifies the muscles and internal organs. This secretes advantageous hormones and nutrients, and it is usually massaged back into your body. The breath guarantees efficient blood circulation. The end result is better blood circulation, a lightweight and strong body along with a calm mind.

There is a suitable series to stick to when doing Astanga yoga. One has to move on from one series of poses to move on to the next. The Primary Series (Yoga Chikitsa) detoxes and aligns your body, cleaning it so that toxins do not block. The Intermediate Series (Nadi Shodhana) purifies the central nervous system by opening and clearing the power channels, allowing energy to move through effortlessly. The Advanced Series A, B, C, and D (Sthira Bhaga) incorporate the grace and endurance in the exercise, which usually calls for intense versatility.

It is best to find a qualified and educated instructor to help you through this discipline. It is an intense exercise that is demanding, six days a week. You are sure to get inner peace and fulfillment with each breath you get.
