Paintball Pistols Are Reinvigorating The Paintball Industry

September 28th, 2010 · No Comments · Extreme Sports

Our sport started in the ’70’s, which is not all that long ago. The first paintball guns were not even close to as efficient as the paintball markers that you can buy today. Every year, paintball guns get a little bit better. Nowadays, a decent paintball marker can shoot paintballs at a ridiculous rate of fire. Which is both a really good, and a really bad thing. Because you are limited by how much your paintball hopper can hold (which is usually around 200-300 paintballs), you can run out of ammo in a very short period of time.

With the high rate of fire from modern day paintball guns, you really can only have about 10 seconds or so of firepower. What happens when you run out of ammo? You are a sitting duck on the paintball field, and are left completely vulnerable to a whole world of hurt. Unless, of course, you are well equipped with a paintball handguns.

Paintball handguns are a wise decision nowadays. Not all paintball players have caught on to this phenomenon, which will give you a significant advantage on the paintball fields.

Here are the top 3 paintball handguns available at paintball stores.

FIRST – T68 Gen3 – Real Action Paintball released this paintball handgun a couple years ago. And it still remains to this day, the number one paintball pistol on the market. But since it’s been out for awhile, it has price dropped to quite a reasonable price.

2 – Ram P99 – The Ram P99 is very similar to the T68 Gen3. In fact, I might even be compelled to say that it is a slightly better paintball handgun. It’s major drawback is that it costs about twice as much, and yet does not significantly beat the T68 in any way.

3- Tippmann TPX – You got to love Tippmanns. The brand has created so many quality products, that it’s hard to ignore its paintball pistol. In fact, this gun has an edge over the top two spots for range. But it does not have the accuracy of the Ram P99 or the T68 Gen3.

So, there you have it. The top 3 paintball handguns on the shelves. I would highly recommend the T68 Gen3 because it is the most reasonably priced, and functions at a very high level. For the amount of investment, it is well worth it. It’s a lot faster to pull out a handgun, then it is to reload your rifle. Paintball pistols are important, and having a good one will increase your success on the paintball fields.
