Particularities Of Tai Chi

Tai chi is among the martial arts which gain more and more popularity nowadays. Reasons are many, as it comes from ancient time and has proven its efficiency and benefits for generations. Like any other martial art, it can be classified according to various criteria and it is based on a combination of yin and yang principles which set out the rules that guide its followers. On the whole, any form of Tai chi is a combination of three main aspects, namely martial arts, health and meditation. The proportions of each of these aspects will make the difference between the traditional schools and the modern ones. Thus, traditional schools will combine the three aspects on a balanced approach while modern schools will focus on a particular one.

Traditional or modern, both types of schools combine the above mentioned aspects which have to be in a close connection to each other. Health is essential for both practice and meditation since an unhealthy person will not be able to perform the movements with the desired accuracy. Nevertheless, the beneficial effects of Tai chi are not a secret any longer with a number of problems being addressed, from either cardiovascular system or brain.

When it comes to meditation, Tai chi is usually referred to as a moving meditation since the slow movements are performed in a repeated manner and require full concentration, which will lead to an escape from the stress and the problems around us.
