Surfing is considered to be one of the most popular water sports as according to the last surveys, there are more than 20 millions people practicing it actively. Unsurprisingly, the commercialism reached this sport also as the companies’ desire for incomes and profits never goes away. What do I mean to say? I am talking about the surfer fashion. Yes, it sounds crazy but it is a fact and there are actually many people who regularly change their outfits and surfboards so as to keep themselves up with the fashion.

Craziness or not, it is a fact and if you don’t want to look as an idiot, you will need to follow the surfer fashion. Of course, it is valid just for those of you who practice surfing as the trends concern mainly the outfit and surfboard.

Let’s start with the outfit. According to the last trends, men would look best in very short shorts. Except for showing off with your body, you will also feel quite comfortable while surfing. Basically, there are not specific colors which you need to wear but the most recommendable one are the bright and many-colored shorts- Hawaii style in short! And what can we say about the women’s surfing outfits? Nothing has changed about that also! Girls would look most fashionable in a one-part swimwear. This is also considered to be the most comfortable outfit while surfing. However, we need to mention that it is also quite trendy women to wear board shorts. What am I saying, you’d say? You thought that the board shorts are meant just for guys didn’t you? Well, the truth is that the women’s short boards have been gaining a lot of popularity. They are usually combined with a top whose color matches to the shorts perfectly. However, you should remember that wearing a top and board shorts of the same color is a huge mistake which you cannot afford to make! The same is valid for the two-part swimwear as both of the parts are usually in the same color also.

Now, we shall continue with the surfing board. After all, we are talking about surfing fashion and not mentioning anything about the surfboards would be an absolute craziness. The surfboards could be long and short, wind and narrow, thick and thin. According to the shape and outlook, we can count dozens of surfboards such as fish, gun, “thruster”, Malibu, fun-board, foam-board, body-board and many others. Unfortunately, there is a trend even in choosing your type of board! Why am I saying “unfortunately”? It is because the type somebody’s board is something which they choose and they do not change. Anyway, because of these “trends”, many people seem to forget that they need to be dedicated to just one of all boards if they really want to be good.

As you can see, sometimes the trend can go too far! It would not be a problem if people wanted to be fashionable when the surfing outfit or footwear is concerned but trying to have a “trendy” surfboard is a sheer nonsense. So, the main thing which people should remember is they shouldn’t trust to anybody who claims that having “this” board will make them trendy!
